PNC Arena Announces New Clear Bag Policy, Will Be Enforced for NC State Commencement

SEPTEMBER 19, 2019 [RALEIGH, NC] Effective September 18, 2019, PNC Arena is implementing a new clear bag policy, mirroring those of other arenas and stadiums nationwide, including the clear bag policy implemented across the street at NC State’s Carter-Finley Stadium in 2016. The Clear Bag Policy will be in effect for all games and events held at the arena.

This also means that the policy will be enforced for NC State’s University Commencement and Poole College of Management commencement ceremonies each May and December, which are held at PNC Arena. All guests attending commencement will be subject to search at entry points and will be required to adhere to the Clear Bag Policy. The following items are approved for entry into the arena:

  • Clear bags no larger than 12” x 12” x 6”
  • 1 gallon clear plastic storage bag
  • A small clutch or wallet no larger than 4.5” x 6.5”
  • Diaper bags and medically necessary items will be permitted after proper inspection and screening; these bags will be searched and tagged; diaper bags MUST be accompanied by a child

Graduating students are asked to arrive via the North end delivery entrance, and will not be expected to adhere to the clear bag policy if they do so. However, graduates are still asked to carry as little with them as possible, and will still be required to go through security screening and adhere to other PNC Arena policies

All other PNC Arena safety and conduct policies and regulations remain in place for commencement. Details can be found on the PNC Arena website at pncarena.com.

Additional resources and information for graduating students, faculty, and guests, including commencement day protocols, can be found throughout the commencement.ncsu.edu website.
