NC State University has announced plans for two in-person outdoor commencement ceremonies celebrating the Spring 2021 graduating class at Carter-Finley Stadium on Friday, May 14 and Saturday, May 15, 2021.
Chancellor Randy Woodson today sent a memo to the NC State community and all graduating students with the announcement and preliminary information about the ceremonies.
“We understand how difficult the past year has been for so many in the Wolfpack community, including our graduates and their families,” Woodson stated in his memo. “We are proud of how hard our students have worked to push through the challenges and continue making progress toward their degrees. We are excited about the opportunity to safely welcome our graduates, and their loved ones, to celebrate their remarkable accomplishments at Carter-Finley Stadium in May.”
We look forward to being able to celebrate our graduates’ magnificent accomplishments under the lights of Carter-Finley Stadium and, more importantly, under the guidance of state and local leaders and health officials.
Details for the ceremonies will be announced within the coming weeks, including:
- Start times of each ceremony
- Confirmation about the number of guests allowed per ceremony
- Reservation and ticketing procedures
- Health and safety requirements
- Accessibility resources
- Ceremony program and remote viewing options
The health and safety of our community remain our top priorities. NC State will continue to work with health officials as we finalize plans, and will make any necessary adjustments to keep our Pack safe. Current health and safety guidelines and NC State’s community standards will be in effect for Commencement.
