Class of 2020 Commencement

We are thrilled to welcome the Class of 2020 and your guests back to campus for a special celebration honoring your accomplishments.

Ceremony Details

When: Saturday, August 28, 2021

Location: Reynolds Coliseum, 2411 Dunn Ave., Raleigh, NC, 27607

Start time:  9 a.m. (doors open for graduates and guests at 8 a.m.)

Length: The ceremony should last no longer than 1.5 hours.

Weather: The ceremony is indoors and will take place rain or shine.

TicketsGraduates will receive information regarding their digital tickets on their NC State Athletics account (to be accessed using the graduate’s NC State email). Information will be received the week of the ceremony.

Entrances: Graduates and guests with accessibility needs will enter on the east side of Reynolds (closest to Jeter Drive Bays and the Coliseum Parking Deck). Guests will enter on the north side of the arena (near the Talley spire).

Livestreams: The ceremony will be live streamed, and will be recorded and made available for later viewing.  The livestream can be viewed at go.ncsu.edu/watchcommencement.

‘Walking:’ No graduates will ‘walk’ across the stage or have their names called during the ceremony. Alternative forms of graduate recognition, both in-ceremony and otherwise, are being planned.

Regalia: Graduates are expected to wear regalia to attend commencement. Contact the NC State Bookstores to order yours as soon as possible, if still needed.

Arena/Coliseum policies: All graduates, guests, faculty and staff in attendance will be required to adhere to the Reynolds Coliseum Prohibited Items & Policies.

COVID-19 Protocol (face coverings): All graduates, guests, faculty and staff in attendance are expected to follow the current NC State community standards. As of August 2, 2021, face coverings are required indoors on campus.

Parking: Graduates and guests are encouraged to park in the Coliseum Parking Deck. Those requiring accessible parking can utilize Jeter Drive Bays on the east side of Reynolds Coliseum.

Registration Requirements and Deadlines

All graduates should have received an email containing a link to a form to stay on the information distribution list. Only those who completed this form by the deadline were sent RSVP information upon release. Graduates who did not receive this email and would still like to receive information or RSVP should contact commencement@ncsu.edu for assistance.

Ticket Distribution

Graduates will receive two (2) guest tickets for commencement. No exceptions can be made at this time.

Graduates will receive information regarding their digital tickets on their NC State Athletics account (to be accessed using the graduate’s NC State email). Information on how those will be displayed and retrieved will be released the evening of August 25, 2021.

Back with the PACK: Alumni Association Event

When: Friday, August 27, 2021

Location: Dorothy & Roy Park Alumni Center, 2450 Alumni Dr., Raleigh, NC, 27606

Time:  6:30 p.m. – 9:00 p.m.

What: Hosted by the Alumni Association and Chancellor Randy Woodson, this special celebration features live music from Liquid Pleasure, the chance to enjoy campus, connect with fellow 2020 graduates and kick off your in-person commencement weekend. Food trucks will also be present offering food for sale. Registration includes a complimentary drink ticket, Howling Cow ice cream and more.
