Graduation Checklist

Wolfpack graduates should ensure important checklist items are completed prior to graduation!

Apply to graduate

All NC State graduates must submit an application to graduate in MyPack Portal by the posted deadline. This is not an application to attend the university ceremony.

Update your privacy settings

NC State does not publish the names of graduates who have certain privacy restrictions on their accounts. If a privacy setting exists without an exception for graduation publication, graduates names will not appear in the commencement program or other materials.

Update your diploma address

Graduates should confirm the address to which their diploma should be sent. If no ‘Diploma Address’ is identified, all diplomas will be mailed to the ‘Home Address’ listed in MyPack Portal.

Graduates who do not supply a diploma name will have their legal name printed on both their diploma and in the commencement program.

Balance your finances

Before you can be cleared to graduate, you must make sure that you have no outstanding financial obligations with the university. Loan recipients may also be required to complete an online exit interview prior to graduating.

Order your cap and gown

Academic regalia, diploma frames, and graduation announcements are available to order and purchase from Wolfpack Outfitters, NC State Bookstores’ flagship location in Talley Student Union.

Complete the Graduating Senior Survey

All graduating students are asked to complete both the Graduating Senior Survey and the Future Plans Survey. Find more information about and access to the surveys here.

Review Google and Unity ID access information

Graduates should review information regarding the duration their Google account access, as well as other services using their Unity ID, and take appropriate action on relevant items.

Quick Reminders

  • Guest tickets are not required for entry to this event. Even so, graduates should limit their guests to four people to ensure available seating for all those in attendance. Seating is on a first come, first served basis. Doors will close if PNC capacity is reached, prohibiting further guest entry.
  • The Commencement ceremony should end no later than 11:30 a.m.
  • The possession of or use of alcoholic beverages in the arena is prohibited.
  • Smoking is strictly prohibited inside the arena. Outdoor smoking areas are designated.
